तुम्हारा व्यवहार लोगों को तीखा लगता है

स्नेह के पात्र,
***** तुम्हारे एक के पश्चात् एक, दो पत्र प्राप्त होने पर जब मैंने आगरतला में दो टेलिग्राम और दो-तीन पत्र भेजे, तब मुझे ज्ञात हुआ था कि श्रीमान् सरभोग में है। कुछ समय पश्चात् मुझे ज्ञात हुआ कि वह पुनः आगरतला लौट गया है। यह देखते और जानते हुए कि सरभोग मठ में सेवकों का अभाव है, उसने वहाँ रहने के लिये मेरे द्वारा पुनः पुनः दिए गये आदेशों और निर्देशों की उपेक्षा की तथा अपने ही निजी कुस्वार्थों को पूर्ण करने हेतु वह आगरतला चला गया । इसलिये अभी मैंने आगरतला मठ एवं हमारे मठ की किसी भी अन्य शाखा में उसे रखने हेतु निषेध कर दिया है।

*****अन्य एक श्रीमान् ग्वालपाड़ा चला गया है। तुम्हारा व्यवहार लोगों को तीखा लगता है एवं इसी कारण सेवक तुम्हारे साथ मठ में रहना नहीं चाहते, यह दुःख की बात है । मठ के सेवकगण स्वेच्छा से मठ में श्रीहरिभजन के लिये वास करते हैं। वे वेतनभोगी कर्मचारी नहीं हैं। वर्त्तमान समय में वेतनभोगी
कर्मचारियों के साथ भी विशेष सतर्कता के साथ वार्त्तालाप और व्यवहार करना पड़ता है। ऐसे में यदि गुरुभाईयों के साथ, जो घर-परिवार त्यागकर आये हैं, व्यवहार करते समय उन्हें यथोचित मर्यादा प्रदान नहीं की जाये तब उन्हें साथ लेकर एक साथ वास करना और सेवा कर पाना सम्भव नहीं होता ।
पुरी में श्रीचैतन्यचरण दासाधिकारी प्रभु को अकस्मात् हृदय में पीड़ा हुई तथा अस्पताल ले जाने पर अति प्रतिभाशील डॉक्टरों के द्वारा उनकी चिकित्सा किये जाने पर भी श्रीजगन्नाथदेव ने 48 घण्टों के भीतर ही उसे 25 जून, प्रातः काल 8:15 बजे आत्मसात कर लिया। परसों ही कोलकाता मठ में उनका आद्य (प्रारम्भिक) श्राद्ध और विरह – महोत्सव बहुत धन व्यय करके भव्य रूप से सुसम्पन्न हुआ है।

Dear recipient of my affection,

After receiving your two letters and sending two telegrams and two or three letters to Āgartalā, I found out that [REDACTED] went to Sarbhoga, but later returned to Āgartalā. Despite knowing there was a shortage of servants in the Sarbhoga maṭha, he neglected my repeated instructions and advice [to stay there] and went to Agartala to fulfil his own deviant, selfish motives. I have therefore forbidden the Agartala maṭha and all of our branches to give him a place to stay for the time being.

[REDACTED] has now gone to Gwālapāḍā. Your behavior agitates people, and the sevakas do not want to remain in the matha. This is a sad state of affairs. The maṭha sevakas reside in the matha of their own free will for the purpose of performing śri hari-bhajana. They are not paid employees. Nowadays, one must exercise proper caution when interacting with even paid employees. If one fails to observe appropriate etiquette with godbrothers who have renounced their homes, it becomes impossible to live and perform service with them.

Śri Caitanya-caraṇa dāsa Adhikāri Prabhu suffered a sudden heart attack in Puri, and although he was taken to the hospital and cared for by highly qualified doctors, within forty-eight hours, Śri Jagannatha-deva made him one of His own on 25 June, at 8:15AM. The day before yesterday, his first śrāddha ceremony and viraha-mahotsava (disappearance festival) were held in the Kolkata matha, with no expense spared.
