सेवकों को उत्साहित रखने की चेष्टा

स्नेह के पात्र,
आपके दिनांक 5, 11, 15 और 17/5/70 के लिखे पत्र क्रमानुसार मुझे प्राप्त हुये । लन्दन में श्रीसुशील त्रिपाठी का पता है – 55, Green Crapt Gardens, London N. W. 6 (U. K.) मठ के सेवकों में जो लोग रात्रि में रोटी प्रसाद ग्रहण करने के अनिच्छुक हैं अथवा उसे स्वास्थ्य के प्रतिकूल मानते हैं, उन्हें जोर-जबरदस्ती करके रोटी खाने के लिये बोलने की आवश्यकता नहीं है। यदि चावल का मूल्य अधिक है अथवा सरकारी राशन से प्राप्त चावल और भिक्षा में प्राप्त चावल पर्याप्त नहीं हो रहे हैं, तब तुम अन्य उपायों के द्वारा आवश्यकता के अनुसार चावल संग्रह करने की व्यवस्था अवश्य ही करना। यदि मठ के सेवक अस्वस्थ होते हैं तो मठ की ही हानि है । सेवकों को उत्साहित रखने की चेष्टा ही बुद्धिमत्ता है । यदि मठ में अर्थ का अधिक अभाव हो तो ऋण करके भी अत्यावश्यक मूलभूत वस्तुओं की उचित व्यवस्था रखना । सब व्यक्तियों की पाचन शक्ति अथवा विचार आदि एक समान नहीं होते। अतः जब बहुत से लोग एक साथ निवास करते हैं, तब सभी को एक ही प्रकार के भोजन को ग्रहण करने के लिये बाधित करने को मैं उचित नहीं समझता।

श्रीजयपताका दास और अच्युतानन्द के पत्र मुझे प्राप्त हुए । मुझे समझ नहीं आ रहा कि मैं जय पताका दास को क्या लिखूँ। यदि अच्युतानन्द वहाँ है, तब उसके विचारों से आप मुझे अवगत कराना, उसके अनुसार ही मैं उसे पत्र लिखूँगा । यदि वह अथवा श्रीस्वामी महाराज का कोई अन्य शिष्य हमारे कोलकाता मठ में आता है, तब उन्हें मठ में निवास के लिये कक्ष देना एवं प्रसाद आदि की भी उचित व्यवस्था करना। आवश्यक होने पर इस विषय में श्रीपाद जगमोहन प्रभु का उपदेश ग्रहण करना । ये विदेशी लोग श्रीगुरु – गौरांग का नामकीर्त्तन और महिमा कीर्त्तन कर रहे हैं, यही उनके प्रति हमारे स्नेह का यथेष्ट कारण है।
गत दिनांक 16 मई को, श्रीगुरुवर्ग की जय ध्वनि एवं श्रीहरिनाम संकीर्तन करते हुए हमने उल्लासपूर्वक सैक्टर – 20बी, चण्डीगढ़ में एक अति उत्तम भूमिखण्ड का अधिकार प्राप्त किया। वहाँ हमने एक पताका और अंग्रेजी, हिन्दी एवं पंजाबी भाषा में ‘श्रीचैतन्य गौड़ीय मठ’ का एक साईनबोर्ड भी लगा दिया। उपस्थित सभी लोगों का मिष्ठान्न प्रसाद और शीतल जल के द्वारा सेवा-सत्कार किया गया।

आप सभी मेरा स्नेह – आशीर्वाद ग्रहण करना ।

Dear recipient of my affection,

I received your letters, dated 5, 11, 15 and 17 May, 1970. Śrī Susil Tripathi’s London address is 55 Green Crapt Gardens, London N.W.6 (U.K.).

Whoever among the matha’s servants is unwilling to honor roți-prasāda at night or considers it to be unfavorable for his health must not be forced to do so. If the price of rice is high, or if the amount of rice received from government rations or that collected during bhikṣā is insufficient, you must absolutely seek some other means by which you can secure whatever quantity you require. If the servants of the matha become unwell, then the matha suffers. It is wise to endeavor to keep the sevakas enthusiastic. If there is a great shortage of funds, you may even take out a loan in order to keep a stock of basic necessities. Each individual possesses a digestive power, point-of-view and other traits that are wholly unique from those of others. Therefore, I find it unreasonable that many people staying together should be forced to eat only one type of cuisine.

I received letters from Śri Jayapatākā dāsa and Acyutānanda. I don’t know what to write to Jayapatākā dāsa. If Acyutānanda remains there, inform me of his thoughts and I will respond to him accordingly. If he or any other disciple of Śri Swami
Mahārāja comes to stay in our Kolkata matha, give him a room and make suitable arrangements for his prasāda and other things, as per standard practice. If necessary, seek guidance from Śrīpāda Jagamohana Prabhu regarding this matter. The fact that these foreigners are performing nāma-kīrtana and glorifying Śri Guru- Gauranga is sufficient a reason to elicit our affection.

On 16 May, amidst the glorification of the guru-varga and śrī harināma-sankīrtana, we, with great pleasure, gained possession of a perfect piece of land in Sector 20B, Chandigarh. There, we erected a flag and a large Gaudiya Matha signboard in English, Hindi and Punjabi. All who attended were welcomed with sweets and cool water.

Know that I am bestowing my affectionate blessings upon you all.
