वास्तविक साधुसंग

कल्याण के पात्र,
जिस विषय में मनुष्य की शक्ति, इन्द्रियवृत्ति अथवा इन्द्रियों से अर्जित वस्तुएँ नियोजित होती हैं, उस विषय की ओर ही स्वाभाविक रूप से उसकी ममता और आसक्ति बढ़ती रहती है। यदि एक व्यक्ति अपने काय – मन-वचन एवं वस्तुओं को सच्चिदानन्द श्रीहरि की सेवा में नियुक्त करता है तब क्रमशः भगवान् श्रीहरि के प्रति उसकी आसक्ति होना अवश्यम्भावी है। किन्तु उक्त सेवा अन्य वाञ्छा का परित्याग करके करने पर श्रीहरि के प्रति आवेश होता है और उनका सङ्ग प्राप्त होता है। दिव्य आनन्द के चरम स्रोत, श्रीभगवान् के उद्देश्य से अपने काय, मन, वचन को नियुक्त करने पर मङ्गल की प्राप्ति अवश्यम्भावी है। मङ्गलप्रार्थी व्यक्ति के लिये वास्तविक साधुसंग करना अति आवश्यक है । सङ्ग से ही मनुष्य की अच्छी तथा बुरी प्रवृत्तियाँ उदित होती हैं। इसीलिये असत्सङ्ग सर्वदा ही वर्जनीय है। साधुसङ्ग के अभाव में साधक को सत्शास्त्रों का अध्ययन करना चाहिये एवं निष्कपट रूप से कृष्ण से असम्बन्धित अन्य समस्त इच्छाओं का परित्याग करके श्रीकृष्ण को पुकारना चाहिये। ऐसा करने से चित्त मार्जित होता है एवं उनकी कृपा से उनकी प्राप्ति का पथ सुगम हो जाता है।

Dear recipient of my well-wishes,
A person naturally develops possessiveness and attachment to that in which he invests his energy, faculties and resources. If a person engages his body, mind, words and resources for Śrī Hari— who is saccidānanda, or composed of eternity, consciousness and bliss-then he is bound to gradually develop attachment for Śri Hari. It is only when he renounces all other desires and engages in such service that he will become immersed in the Lord and attain His association. If he employs his body, mind and words for the sake of the Supreme Lord, the source of topmost bliss, he is certain to attain good fortune. True association with true sādhus is absolutely essential for those seeking auspiciousness. A man’s inclinations arise from the company he keeps. That is why bad association is always to be rejected. In the absence of sādhus, one must study the scriptures, sincerely give up other hankerings and cry out to Śri Kṛṣṇa. Then, one’s heart will be cleansed and, by His mercy, the path to attain Him will become easily accessible.
