पूर्वकृत कर्मों के फल

स्नेह के पात्र,
आज जब मैं हैदराबाद पहुँचा तब तुम्हारा दिनांक 15/5/1977 का लिखा पत्र, जो तुमने किसी व्यक्ति के द्वारा भिजवाया था, मुझे प्राप्त हुआ । पुरी के समाचार के सम्बन्ध में मैं कुछ अवगत हुआ। हमें अपने पूर्वकृत कर्मों के फल अवश्य ही भोग करने होंगे, अन्यथा महत् पारमार्थिक कार्य में इस प्रकार के विघ्न का [जिसका तुमने अपने पत्र में उल्लेख किया है] उपस्थित होना कल्पना से अतीत है। किसी को भी दोष देने से कोई लाभ नहीं है, अपने ही पूर्वकृत कर्मों का फल ही इसका कारण है अथवा सम्भवतः श्रीगुरुगौराङ्ग के द्वारा हमारी निष्ठा की परीक्षा भी इसका कारण हो सकती है। जैसा भी हो, तुम लोग पुरी में श्रील प्रभुपाद, श्रीगौरसुन्दर तथा श्रीराधाकृष्ण की सेवा की स्थापना करने एवं उनकी महिमा का विस्तार करने के लिये इस प्रकार के उद्वेग को स्वीकार करना । धैर्य और सहनशीलनता का पालन करते हुए सेवाकार्य में दृढ़ता का अवलम्बन करना, जिससे कि हम सभी इस परीक्षा में उत्तीर्ण हो सकें।

हम 14 लोग यहाँ से आगामी 26 मई को प्रातःकाल यात्रा करेंगे। इनमें से तीर्थ महाराज, अनङ्गमोहन, गिरि महाराज, भारती महाराज, मदन, परेशानुभव और मैं सम्भवतः East coast express से खुरदा रोड़ पर उतरकर 27 को प्रातः काल हावड़ा- पुरी Express से पुरी पहुँचेंगे। अन्य दो एक व्यक्ति भी आ सकते हैं। हमारी वहाँ अधिक दिन ठहरने की सम्भावना नहीं है ।

यदि तुम्हें मेरे द्वारा आज भेजे जा रहे इस पत्र को पढ़ने तक मेरे द्वारा पूर्व में भेजा गया टेलिग्राम नहीं भी प्राप्त हुआ हो, तो कोई असुविधा नहीं है, परन्तु तुम मूर्त्तिकार के पास अवश्य जाना एवं उससे कहना कि वह कृपा करके श्रीविग्रहों का शृंगार उत्तम तथा स्थायी रूप से शीघ्र सम्पन्न कर दे, जिससे कि हम लोग वहाँ पहुँचते ही श्रीविग्रहों के साथ ट्रेन से कोलकाता की यात्रा कर सकें। तब तक यदि वे शोला का मुकुट नहीं बना पायें, तो बनाने की आवश्यकता नहीं है। यदि उन्होंने वे मुकुट बना दिए हों, तो हम उन्हें भी साथ ले जायेंगे। उन मुकुटों को भली-भाँति pack करके लेना होगा। हम कोलकाता से आगरतला विमान से जाने की चेष्टा करेंगे। मैं स्नानयात्रा से पूर्व ही श्रीविग्रहों के साथ आगरतला पहुँचना चाहता हूँ। श्रीविग्रहों को बड़े बॉक्स में रखकर विमान में ले जाने की व्यवस्था सर्वदा उपलब्ध नहीं होती। मोटर transport के द्वारा भेजने पर बहुत दिन लग जायेंगे । अन्य बातें भेंट होने पर करूँगा। तुम सभी मेरा स्नेह – आशीर्वाद ग्रहण करना।

Dear recipient of my affection,
When I reached here today, I received your letter, dated 15 May, 1977, which you had sent through someone. I came to know something of the news concerning Puri. We certainly have to endure the fruits of our previous actions. Otherwise, this sort of obstacle [described in your letter] is unimaginable in the context of such a grand spiritual undertaking. There is no benefit in blaming others. The fruits of our own previous actions may be the cause of this, or perhaps śrīguru and Gauranga are testing our determination. Whatever the case, you must accept this sort of disturbance with an unwavering heart for the sake of establishing the service of Śrila Prabhupada, Śrī Gaurasundara and Śri Śri Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa there [in Puri] and spreading Their glories. With fortitude and tolerance, we must all adopt conviction in our services, so that we may all pass this test.

On the morning of 26 May, fourteen of us will be traveling. Among us, Tirtha Mahārāja, Ananga-mohana, Giri Mahārāja, Bhārati Mahārāja, Madana, Pareśānubhava and I may possibly get down from the East Coast Express at Khurda Road on the morning of the twenty-eighth and arrive in Puri via Howrah- Puri Express. One or two more people may also come. There is no chance of us staying there long.

If you have received my telegram and not yet visited the metalsmith, then go to the metalsmith immediately after reading this letter and tell him to kindly finish painting and decorating the deities. The work should be of excellent quality and permanent, but it should be done quickly, so that as soon as we reach there, we can travel to Kolkata with Them by train. If they cannot make the crowns out of cork, then there is no need to make them. If they are able to, then we will carry them with us, in which case they will need to be packed well. We will try to book tickets for a flight out of Kolkata. I want to reach Agaratala with the deities before Snāna-yātrā. The facility to take the śrī vigraha in a big box on a plane is not always available. If They go by motor transport, it will take a very long time. We will discuss other matters in person. Know that you all have my heartfelt blessings.
