काय-मन-वचन को हरिसेवा में नियोजित

तुम्हारा दिनांक 3/4/78 का लिखा पत्र मुझे एक दिन पूर्व आनन्दघर से कोलकाता लौटने पर प्राप्त हुआ। तुम लोग निर्विघ्न रूप से आगरतला पहुँच गये हो, यह जानकर मैं प्रसन्न एवं निश्चिन्त हो गया।

आगरतला में बहुत से श्रद्धालु व्यक्ति हैं। आशा करता हूँ कि तुमलोगों के द्वारा भक्ति के निष्कपट एवं सदाचार पूर्ण अनुशीलन तथा प्रचार के फलस्वरूप क्रमशः वहाँ के सज्जनगण तुमलोगों के प्रति और अधिक श्रद्धावान होंगे एवं तुम लोग भी उत्साह के साथ समस्त प्रकार के उपायों से यह प्रयत्न करोगे कि मठ की सेवाओं में समृद्धि हो ।

हम लोग घर-परिवार को त्यागकर, एकान्त रूप से अपने काय-मन-वचन को हरिसेवा में नियोजित करने की आशा से एवं अपने चित्त को पूर्णतया श्रीकृष्ण के चरणकमलों में नियोजित करने के लिये ही मठ में आये हैं । अतः हमें अपने जीवन के उद्देश्य को सफल करने के लिये सर्वदा ही प्रयत्नशील रहना चाहिये। हम जो भिक्षा, प्रचार तथा लोगों के साथ सद्-आलाप करते हैं, उन सभी का उद्देश्य स्वयं को एवं अन्यों को क्रमशः अधिक-से-अधिक मात्रा में श्रीकृष्ण के चरणकमलों की सेवा में निविष्ट करना है। इसके अतिरिक्त हमारी अन्य कोई आकाङ्क्षा नहीं है। स्वयं को सम्पूर्णतया श्रीकृष्ण की सेवा में नियोजित रखना ही साधकों का व्रत है।

यहाँ पर बहुत से लोग श्रीचैतन्यचरितामृत ग्रन्थ को संग्रह करने के लिये प्रार्थना कर रहे हैं। किन्तु एक हज़ार प्रतियाँ छपाने के लिये आजकल बाजार मूल्य के अनुसार कागज, छपाई और बधाई का सम्पूर्ण व्यय चालीस से पचास हजार रूपये से कम में सम्भव नहीं होगा। यदि हो सके तो तुम किसी ऐसे व्यक्ति को ढूँढने का प्रयास करो जो श्रीचैतन्यचरितामृत के मुद्रण के लिये कोई महत्त्वपूर्ण सहायता कर सके ।

मैं आगामी परसों चण्डीगढ़ की यात्रा करूँगा, जहाँ मैं 19 तक रहूँगा, तत्पश्चात् 20 से 26 अप्रैल तक जालन्धर शहर में रहूँगा। उसके बाद के कार्यक्रम की सूचना तुम्हें बाद में बतलाऊँगा। सम्भवतः, मैं जून मास के प्रथम सप्ताह में हैदराबाद होकर पुरी जा सकता हूँ। उसके पश्चात्, यदि सम्भव हुआ तो एकबार आगरतला आने की भी मेरी इच्छा है। तुम सभी मेरा स्नेह आशीर्वाद ग्रहण करना ।

Dear recipient of my affection,
Yesterday, I received your letter, dated 3 April, 1978, after returning from Ananda-ghara to Kolkata. I am happy and comforted in the knowledge that everyone reached the Āgaratala matha without any trouble.

There are many devout individuals in Āgaratalā. Your sincere and virtuous conduct permeates your cultivation and preaching of bhakti. I hope that this will eventually result in the pious people there developing in you all a steadily increasing faith, and that you all will eagerly strive to employ every means to expand the scope of the services of the matha.

We have renounced our homes and come to the matha in the hope of engaging our bodies, minds and words exclusively in the service of Śri Hari, and also with the aspiration to absorb our hearts, to the greatest degree, in Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s lotus feet. We ought to constantly strive to fulfill the purpose of our lives. We beg for alms, preach and converse with others about spiritual life for the express purpose of immersing ourselves and others, in ever-increasing measure, in the service of Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s lotus feet. We have no ambition other than this. A sadhaka’s vow is to keep himself engaged in the service of Śrī Kṛṣṇa in all respects.

Many people here are seeking copies of Śrī Caitanya- caritămṛta. But in today’s market, if we want to print a thousand copies, then the cost of paper, printing and binding is not possibly less than forty or fifty thousand rupees. If you can, try to find someone who can offer some significant support in printing Śri Caitanya-caritămṛta.

The day after tomorrow, I will travel to Chandigarh, where I will remain until the 19th, after which I will visit Jalandhara from the 20th to the 25th. I will notify you later about my future plans. Most likely, I will be going to Puri after visiting Hyderabad in the first week of June. After that, if possible, I would like to pay a visit to Agaratală, as well.
