अपनी योग्यता के अनुसार अपने आराध्यदेव की सेवा

स्नेह के पात्र,
मैं तुम सभी के स्नेह के कारण अभी तक जीवित हूँ एवं अपनी योग्यता के अनुसार अपने आराध्यदेव की सेवा के लिये प्रयत्न कर रहा हूँ। तुम सभी ने मेरे नित्य – आराध्य की सेवा में मेरी सहायता करने के लिये अत्यधिक कष्ट स्वीकार किया है और कर रहे हो। मैं स्वाभाविक रूप से ही इस सहायता के लिये तुम्हारा कृतज्ञ हूँ ।

हमारा शरीर, मन, इन्द्रियसमूह एवं आत्मा, सभी श्रीकृष्ण की सम्पत्ति हैं, अतएव उन श्रीकृष्ण की सेवा के लिये ही इन सबका संरक्षण करना और उनकी सेवा में इनको नियुक्त करना ही परम वाञ्छनीय है। हमारे जीवन अथवा समय का कोई भी अंश अन्य कार्यों में नियुक्त करने के लिये नहीं है। हम सब प्रकार से, सर्वदा अपनी सभी इन्द्रियों को श्रीकृष्ण की सेवा में नियुक्त कर पाने पर ही स्वयं को धन्य समझेंगे ।

[हमें सतर्क रहना चाहिये जिससे कि ] कनक, कामिनी और प्रतिष्ठा की आशा हमारे हृदय में आकर हमें कदापि अपने आराध्य तथा प्रियतम श्रीहरि के सेवा – सुख और उनके सङ्ग से वञ्चित न कर पाये। माया अनेक प्रकार की मूर्त्तियों में आकर साधक को परीक्षा की स्थिति में डाल सकती है। यदि हम एकान्तिक रूप से शरणागत हुए तब श्रीकृष्ण स्वयं ही हमारी रक्षा करेंगे, कोई विपत्ति हमें स्पर्श नहीं कर सकेगी।

धैर्य और सहिष्णुता नामक गुणों का होना साधक के लिये अत्यन्त आवश्यक है। अपने स्वरूप का ज्ञान होने पर तथा यह समझ जाने पर कि श्रीकृष्णप्रेम ही हमारा चरम प्रयोजन है, धैर्य और सहिष्णुता का कदापि अभाव नहीं रहेगा। श्रीगौर – कृष्ण परम दयालु हैं, अतः उनके शरणागत भक्तों के लिये किसी भी अवस्था में भय का कोई कारण उपस्थित नहीं होगा। परन्तु यदि कर्त्तापन का अभिमान एवं इन्द्रिय भोग की प्रवृत्ति प्रबल होती है, तब अशान्ति एवं उद्वेग चित्त में आकर उसे चञ्चल करेंगे तुम लोग इन अनर्थों से दूर रहना । श्रीभक्तिविनोद ठाकुर कृत शरणागति के विचार तथा कीर्त्तनों का पाठ एवं स्मरण करना, इससे चित्त को शान्ति प्राप्त होगी ।

यहाँ हैदराबाद मठ की भूमि पर भित्ति स्थापन ( नींव रखने) का कार्यक्रम बहुत बड़े समारोह के साथ सम्पन्न हुआ । अब निर्माण योजना ( PLAN) की स्वीकृति मिलते ही मन्दिर और सेवक खण्ड के निर्माण का कार्य आरम्भ हो जाएगा। मेरी जून के महीने में कोलकाता में लौटने की इच्छा है।

Dear recipient of my affection,
Because of the affection of every one of you, I am still alive now and endeavoring to serve my worshipful Lords as far as my limited capacity permits. You have all endured considerable hardship assisting me in my service to my eternally worshipful Lords, and you continue to do so. Naturally, I am indebted to you for this support.

As our bodies, minds, senses and souls are all the property of Śrī Kṛṣṇa, it is most advisable that we protect them and engage them exclusively in His service. No part or duration of our lives is to be engaged in any other activity. It is only if we can wholly and incessantly engage all of our senses in Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s service that we can know ourselves to be blessed and fortunate. We must guard against kanaka (wealth), kāminī (women) and pratiṣṭhāśā (the desire for prestige) from ever entering our hearts and cheating us of the joy to be experienced in the association of and service to our most worshipful and beloved Śrī Hari. Māyā, the illusory energy, can alter herself in a variety of forms in order to cast the sādhaka into testing situations. If we remain exclusively surrendered, Śrī Kṛṣṇa Himself will protect us; no calamity can befall us.

Patience and tolerance are absolutely essential qualities for a sadhaka. When one becomes conscious of one’s absolute identity (svarūpa) and realizes that prema, divine love, for Śri Kṛṣṇa is one’s ultimate goal (prayojana), there will remain no dearth of patience or tolerance. Śri Gaura-Kṛṣṇa is supremely merciful. Therefore, He and those devotees who are surrendered to Him will never have cause for fear in any situation. If everthe notion that we are ‘the doer’ or the tendency to enjoy becomes strong, then unrest and anxiety will enter our hearts and make them restless. Keep your distance from such vices. Sing the songs of [Śrila Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura’s] Śaraṇāgati and study and reflect on its subject matter. This will bring peace to the heart.

Here in Hyderabad, a foundation has been laid amid a grand ceremony on the matha’s land. Now, once the plans are approved, construction of the temple and residents’ quarters will commence. I wish to return to Kolkata in the month of June.
