मंगलाकांक्षी साधक के लिए, चैतन्य महाप्रभु व भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण के संतुष्टि विधान हेतु, न्यूनाधिक रूप से शिक्षाष्टक के प्रथम व तृतीय श्लोक की शिक्षाओं का निष्कपट भाव से निष्ठापूर्वक पालन अति आवश्यक है। चैतन्य महाप्रभु ने प्रथम श्लोक में श्रीराधाकृष्ण संकीर्तन से प्राप्य सप्त प्रमुख-सिद्धियाँ, अथवा सटीकता के कहें तो सर्व-सिद्धि लाभ करने की शिक्षा दी है।

प्रश्न – मैं इस वर्ष अक्टूबर में व्रजमंडल परिक्रमा में आने से पहले अपने नौकरी को छोड़ने के विषय में विचार कर रही थी। अन्य एक विचार के अनुसार मैं भारतीय वस्तुओं का कोई व्यवसाय आरम्भ कर सकती हूँ। हम यहाँ के स्थानीय GOKUL (गोकुल संस्थान) से संलग्न होने का विचार कर रहे हैं। अब मुझे अनुभव होता है कि अपने जीवन को सार्थक करने का एकमात्र उपाय स्वयं को पूर्ण रूप से आपकी सेवा के उद्देश्य के लिए समर्पितकर, गुरुवर्ग व भगवान् की संतुष्टि के लिए आपका एक उपकरण बनना ही है।

श्रील गुरुदेव – ई-मेल के माध्यम से आपका पत्र प्राप्त हुआ। आपके पत्र में लिखित विषय वस्तु के द्वारा यह जानकर मुझे प्रसन्नता हुई कि आप गुरु, वैष्णव व राधाकृष्ण की सेवा के लिए अत्यधिक उत्सुक हैं।

श्रीचैतन्य महाप्रभु राधारानी की अंगकान्ति व भाव को अंगीकार कर, वैवस्वत मन्वंतर के वर्तमान कलियुग में, मुख्यतः भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण के माधुर्य का आस्वादन करने व साथ ही साथ आनुषंगिक रूप से समस्त जीवों को, जाति, पंथ, धर्म अथवा संप्रदाय की अपेक्षा से रहित, कृष्ण-प्रेम वितरण करने के लिए प्रकटित हुए हैं। वे भगवान् के परम उदार विग्रह (महावदान्य रूप) हैं। यद्यपि वे स्वयं भगवान् हैं, जीवों को अपने आचरण द्वारा कृष्ण-भक्ति की शिक्षा देने के लिए वे स्वयं भक्त-रूप अंगीकार करते हैं। अतः उनकी शिक्षाओं, ‘शिक्षाष्टक’ की सूक्ष्म विवेचना अत्यावश्यक है। एक निष्ठावान सेवक सदैव अपने सेव्य को संतुष्ट करने के लिए प्रयासरत रहता है। व्रजमंडल परिक्रमा के समय, भक्तगण सम्पूर्ण कार्तिक मास में चैतन्य महाप्रभु की शिक्षाओं (शिक्षाष्टक) का पाठ करते हैं। मंगलाकांक्षी साधक के लिए, चैतन्य महाप्रभु व भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण के संतुष्टि विधान हेतु, न्यूनाधिक रूप से शिक्षाष्टक के प्रथम व तृतीय श्लोक की शिक्षाओं का निष्कपट भाव से निष्ठापूर्वक पालन अति आवश्यक है। चैतन्य महाप्रभु ने प्रथम श्लोक में श्रीराधाकृष्ण संकीर्तन से प्राप्य सप्त प्रमुख-सिद्धियाँ, अथवा सटीकता के कहें तो सर्व-सिद्धि लाभ करने की शिक्षा दी है। संकीर्तन का अर्थ है, दशापराध-वर्जन कर निरपराध कीर्तन; सम्यक कीर्तन अर्थात् उनके नाम, रूप, गुण, परिकर, लीला समूह का कीर्तन। शुद्ध भक्तों के संग में किया गया कीर्तन भी संकीर्तन है।

दशापराध-वर्जन कर संकीर्तन करने के लिए, आपको शिक्षाष्टक के तृतीय श्लोक का अभ्यास करना होगा – तृण से भी अधिक दीन होकर, वृक्ष से भी अधिक सहिष्णु होकर, समस्त जीवों के हृदय में कृष्ण-अधिष्ठान जानकर सभी को सम्मान देना व अपने मान की अभिलाषा न रखना। सब कुछ हमारे आचरण पर निर्भर करता है; मुख से बोलने मात्र से ही अभीष्ट फल प्राप्त नहीं किया जा सकता। हमें आत्म-निरीक्षण करना होगा कि हम चैतन्य महाप्रभु की शिक्षाओं का यथार्थ रूप से पालन कर रहे हैं या नहीं। इन शिक्षाओं का यथार्थ रूप से पालन करने वाला साधक निश्चित रूप से सर्वोत्तम लक्ष्य, राधाकृष्ण-प्रेम, को प्राप्त करेगा। सेवा का अर्थ है अपनी सभी इंद्रियों (स्थूल और सूक्ष्म) को एवं प्रत्येक चेष्टा को गुरु-वैष्णव-भगवान् की सेवा में नियोजित करना।

सर्वोपाधि-विनिर्मुक्तं तत्-परत्वेन निर्मलम्।
हृषीकेण हृषीकेशसेवनं भक्तिर उच्यते॥
(चैतन्य चरितामृत मध्य 19.170)

स्थूल व सूक्ष्म, सभी प्रकार की जागतिक उपाधियों से पूर्ण रूप से मुक्त होकर व स्वयं को कृष्ण का जानकर ही साधक कृष्ण की सेवा कर सकता है।

मुझे ज्ञात है कि GOKUL (Global Organisation of Krishnachaitanya’s Universal Love) संस्थान आपके स्थान पर पंजीकृत (registered) है। अत: वहाँ संस्थान की गतिविधियां होनी समुचित है। दीक्षा के पश्चात् साधक के लिए कृष्ण-कथा श्रवण-कीर्तन रूपी भक्ति के अंगों का पालन करना अति आवश्यक है। मुझे ज्ञात हुआ है कि आपने हमारे गुरुदेव का शताब्दी समारोह का आयोजन किया था। इसकी एक रिपोर्ट (विवरण) हमारी मासिक पत्रिका, श्रीचैतन्य वाणी, में प्रकाशन के लिए यहाँ भेजना उपयुक्त होगा।

हमें सर्व मंगलमय हरि की मंगलमयी इच्छा के समक्ष नतमस्तक होना है। उनकी इच्छा से जो कुछ भी होता है, सबके मंगल के लिए होता है। भगवत् इच्छा से अब मेरा आवागमन भारत में ही सीमित है एवं चिकित्सकों ने मुझे अधिक यात्रा न करने का भी परामर्श दिया है, किन्तु यदि भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण की इच्छा से सम्भव हुआ तो मुझे व्रजमण्डल-परिक्रमा महोत्सव में सम्मिलित होने का सुयोग प्राप्त हो सकता है।

आपकी नौकरी के विषय में आपको अपने पति, सास, व आवश्यतानुसार अन्य अनुभवी व्यक्तियों से परामर्शकर निर्णय लेना उचित होगा।

Highest Munificent Form of Godhead

A votary, to satisfy Chaitanya Mahāprabhu and the Supreme Lord Śrī Krishna, should at least practice the first and third verses of Śikṣāṣṭaka sincerely from the core of the heart. Chaitanya Mahāprabhu has taught in the first verse, mainly seven principal attainments or more correctly all attainments while doing Śrī Rādhā-Krishna sankīrtan.

Question – I was thinking about quitting my job before coming to Vrajamaṇḍal parikrama in October this year. Another idea is that I could open some shop with Indian articles. We are thinking to associate with GOKUL here. Now I feel that the only way that I would find fulfillment in my life is to dedicate myself fully for Your purpose, to become Your instrument in fulfilling the desires of Śrī Guruvarg and our Lordships.

Śrīla Gurudev – Received your letter sent through e-mail. I am glad to go through the contents of your letter, knowing that you are very much eager to serve guru, vaiṣṇava and Rādhā-Krishna.

Śrī Chaitanya Mahāprabhu appeared in this very Kaliyuga of Vaivasvata Manvantar by taking the form and mood of worship of Rādhārāṇī, principally to taste the sweetness of the Supreme Lord Krishna and simultaneously to distribute Krishnaprema to all, irrespective of caste, creed and religion. He is the Highest Munificent Form of Godhead. Although He is the Supreme Lord, He takes the Form of a devotee to teach others how to love Krishna by practicing Himself. So, it is very essential to go through His teachings, ‘Śikṣāṣṭaka’. A sincere servitor always tries to satisfy his object of worship. During Vrajamaṇḍal parikrama, devotees will go through His teachings throughout the month of Kārtik-vratā. A votary, to satisfy Chaitanya Mahāprabhu and the Supreme Lord Śrī Krishna, should at least practice the first and third verses of Śikṣāṣṭaka sincerely from the core of the heart. Chaitanya Mahāprabhu has taught in the first verse, mainly seven principal attainments or more correctly all attainments while doing Śrī Rādhā-Krishna sankīrtan. Sankīrtan means to perform kīrtan without tenfold offences; to perform kīrtan completely i.e. to sing His Name, Form, Attributes, Personal Associates, Pastimes and also in the company of bona fide śuddha bhaktas.

For doing sankīrtan without the tenfold offences, you are to go through the third verse of Śikṣāṣṭakam -to be humbler than a blade of grass, more forbearing than a tree, to give respect to all thinking that your object of worship is residing in their hearts and not to have the desire to get respect from others. Everything depends upon practice; merely by speaking we cannot get the desired fruit. We are to examine ourselves whether we are actually following the teachings of Chaitanya Mahāprabhu. The actual follower will surely get the highest object, Rādhā- Krishna prema. Service means to engage all sense-organs (gross and subtle) and all efforts for Guru-Vaishnav-Bhagavān.

sarvopādhi-vinirmuktaṁ tat-paratvena nirmalam
hṛṣīkeṇa hṛṣīkeśa-sevanaṁ bhaktir ucyate
(Chaitanya Charitāmṛta Madhya 19.170)

One can serve Krishna only after being completely free from mundane egos, gross and subtle, and acquiring the knowledge that the aspirant is of Him.

I am aware that GOKUL (Global Organisation of Krishnachaitanya’s Universal Love) Institution is registered at . So, it will be good if there be any activity of the institution. After taking mantra, it is necessary for the votary to perform the devotional forms of hearing and chanting of the glories of Krishna. I have heard that you have solemnised the Centennial Function of our gurudev. A report of it should be sent here for publication in our monthly magazine, Śrī Chaitanya Vāṇi.

We are to submit to the Will of the Supreme Lord, Who is all-good. Whatever is done by His Will, is for the benefit of all. By the Lord’s desire, I am now confined here in India and doctors have advised me not to undertake a aahectic tour, but if the Supreme Lord Krishna desires, I may have the opportunity to participate in the Vrajamaṇḍal parikrama celebration.

Regarding your job, you should consult with your husband, mother-in-law, and if necessary, other experienced people and take decision.
